Monster Mud is made by mixing dry wall compound with latex paint. I used black latex with this, and when it mixes it appers more gray. You then submerge materiel into the mix, and squeeze it out. You want a decent amount on the materiel. You usally want a lot of drywall(it took about 3 gallons for this reaper) and about a gallon of latex pain, depending on the size of the prop.
